Authentic Humility is not thinking less of yourself. It is thinking of yourself less. For a founder, it is a competitive advantage because it lets you see reality as it is, not as your ego wants it to be.
Founder ceiling: if you are the smartest person in every room, the company is limited by your ceiling. Humility is what breaks that ceiling.
Knowing your limits: intellectual honesty. You can say what you are great at, and where you are weak, then hire accordingly.
Coachability: how fast you can take advice from anyone and turn it into better action.
Vulnerability: being willing to be unsure in front of the team. This creates psychological safety, so issues surface early.
Dunning Kruger effect: understand how low skill can create high confidence. It helps you stay curious and grounded.
Radical transparency: idea meritocracy, the best idea wins, no matter who said it.
No stakes asks: learn to ask for help in a way that signals commitment, not weakness. Replace “I do not know what to do” with “I found a gap, who can teach me.”
